Invented and patented a dry plate formula for film processing
Invented the first amateur snapshot camera, called the Brownie (1888)
Invented the first flexible transparent film on a celluloid roll (1889)

Why he might be annoying:

He was sued by competitor, Hannibal Goodwin, over a patent infringement (ended 1914 - eleven year court battle).
After a long bout with illness, he committed suicide (1932).

He made the University of Rochester the beneficiary of a gift to establish the Eastman School of Music.
He had a strong relationship with his mother.
At 14 years old, he worked as a messenger boy, making $3 a week (1868).
He dedicated his life to improving the quality of photography and making it accessible to amateurs.
