Why he might be annoying:

    His poems were published posthumously.
    He romanticized dying young.
    His Harvard classmate T.S. Eliot described his style as 'so much out of date as to be almost a positive quality.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He died cheering a successful charge by his fellow soldiers despite having been hit several times by machine gun fire.
    When France erected a monument to Americans who volunteered to fight in WWI before the US entered the war, they based the statue on a photo of Seeger.
    'I Have a Rendezvous with Death' was one of John F. Kennedy's favorite poems.
