Why he might be annoying:

He violated the CIA charter by launching a domestic spying operation after Lyndon B Johnson told him to ‘track down the Communists’ behind anti-war protests.
When Congress began investigating illegal CIA activities, he ordered the mass destruction of records from the MK-Ultra mind-control program.
He was given a suspended two-year sentence and fined $2,000 (1977) for giving false testimony to a Congressional committee about CIA involvement in the overthrow of the government of Salvador Allende in Chile.

Why he might not be annoying:

CIA historian Keith Melton described him as a professional with ‘a low tolerance for fools.’
Asked by LBJ to analyze the ‘Domino Theory,’ he concluded that a loss in Vietnam would not damage ‘this country’s ability to play its role as a world power.’
He refused a demand from John Dean that the CIA bail out the Watergate burglars. As a result, he was fired by President Nixon for ‘disloyalty.’
