    Performed in the original stage adaption of 'Dracula,' opposite Bela Lugosi
    He wore thick glasses.
    Despite being Californian, he always spoke with a German accent.
    He hated his role as Van Helsing and considered it his most boring performance.
    He didn't begin his acting career until he was nearly 50.
    He appeared in many of the classic 1930s monster films.
    He was the original 'Van Helsing.'
