Why he might be annoying:

    His career ended as a result of a back injury that caused him to get a surgery that made coming back to active play too risky.
    He admitted he doesn't keep in contact with his old teammates because he doesn't want to bother them.
    He played on a dreadful Pirates team during the infamous Dave Littlefield era.
    Despite being a mainstay for the Pirates, he was traded to the Giants for virtually nothing.
    He was part of a revolving door of second baseman for the Giants during their World Series championship years.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He overcame a club foot on his right side and pigeon toes on his left side to play in the majors.
    He was the first Pirate player in 23 years to win the NL batting title.
    He played in his first All-Star Game in front of his home crowd (2006).
    He was a member of the first Giants team to win the World Series since relocating to San Francisco (2010).
    He was a fan favorite in both Pittsburgh & San Francisco.
