Most of his works were published posthumously, meaning that he didn't get to reap the benefits of fame in his life.
He exhibited socialist leanings that border on communism.
He believed a capitalist society is inherently decadent and leads to the destruction of man's world.
    He resembled Leonardo DiCaprio.
He has been compared to Arthur Rimbaud due to the similarities in childhood experiences of war.
His native Karst region was subject to Italianization after it was annexed by Italy under the Treaty of Rapallo. (1920)
Even though the poems he wrote were mostly drafts, they were of unusual quality considering his age.
His poems voice his concern of the Slovenes' history of oppression, an onset of decadence in Europe, and hope for a bright future.
