Why he might be annoying:

He lasted only four innings with the Reds before being sent down to the minors for five years.
He had a reputation for getting off to a slow start during spring, explaining 'I belong to hot weather. Cold weather's no good for baseball or me.'
He was nicknamed 'Crazy Horse' for his many superstitions, including always sitting in the same spot on the bench, never stepping on a foul line, not signing autographs on days he pitched, and wearing a lucky cap that he insisted on having airmailed to Milwaukee when he left it behind in Baltimore before a road game.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first player to hit a grand slam in the AL Championship Series (1970).
He won the deciding game of the 1970 World Series for the Orioles.
He was one of the Orioles' 'Big Four' 20-game winners (1971).
Jim Palmer said, 'Mike was arguably the best left-hander in the game from 1969 to 1974, but he never got his due.'
