The Resume

    (December 23, 1907-February 12, 1942)
    Born in Suwalki, Poland
    Emigrated to Palestine (1925)
    Militant Zionist
Formed the paramilitary group Lehi, aka the Stern Gang (1940)
Shot to death shortly after being arrested

Why he might be annoying:

He advocated the use of terrorism.
He was particularly fond of targeting Jewish officers in the Palestinian police force.
Unlike the other Jewish paramilitary groups in Palestine (Haganah and Irgun), he refused to suspend attacks against the British during World War II.
He said there was 'no difference between Hitler and Chamberlain.'
He attempted to contact Nazi authorities, offering to 'actively take part in the war on Germany's side' in return for German support for Jewish immigration to Palestine and establishment of a Jewish state (January, 1941).

Why he might not be annoying:

He wrote the song 'Unknown Soldiers,' which became a popular anthem of the Zionist underground.
According to official reports, he was shot when he bolted for a window in an attempt to either escape or set off an explosive device.
Two of the policemen present at his death later called the official account 'hogwash' and said he had been shot while unarmed and handcuffed.
His annual memorial day is attended by Israeli politicians and government officials.
