The Resume

    (September 23, 1938-April 20, 2020)
    Born in Laurel, Mississippi
Portrayed Eb Dawson in Green Acres
Appeared in the films 'Benji' (1974) and 'Gordy' (1994)

Why he might be annoying:

He missed the first half of the 1967-68 season of 'Green Acres' after contracting mono; the show explained his character's absence by saying Eb had eloped and was on his honeymoon.
He found few acting jobs after 'Green Acres' went off the air.
Although he described Eddie Albert as his 'surrogate father,' he was the only surviving 'Green Acres' cast member not to attend Albert's funeral (2005).

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated from Ole MIss with a degree in chemistry and taught science before going to Hollywood.
He beat out 400 other actors for the part of Eb -- largely because, having grown up on a farm, he was the only auditionee who could milk a cow.
As a motivational and religious speaker, he shared the stage with Rev. Billy Graham.
He owned a 250-acre timber farm and was named MIssissippi's Wildlife Farmer of the Year (1997).
