Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He spent the bulk of his playing career on poor Leafs and Penguins teams.
He was traded from Toronto to Pittsburgh for virtually nothing in return.
He played only six games in 1984-85 before deciding to retire mid season.
His record as the Penguins head coach was 55-81-14-10 in two seasons.
Some Penguins fans felt he only got the head coaching position out of spite.

Why he might not be annoying:

He established himself as a scoring threat in Pittsburgh.
He held most of the franchise's scoring records, prior to Mario Lemieux.
He recorded two 80+ point seasons between 1980 and 1982.
He was inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (1995).
Some Penguins fans and hockey pundits feel his failures as head coach wasn't his fault as he was appointed head coach during the transitional period between the departure of Jaromir Jagr and the arrival of Sidney Crosby.
