    (circa 1500-February 25, 1536)
    Born in Moos, Italy
    Founder of the Hutterites
    Originally trained as a hatmaker in Prague
    Wrote several letters to civil authorities about the persecution of Hutterites
    Arrested at Tyrol (November 30, 1535)
    Burnt to death on the stake in Innsbruck

Why he might be annoying:

    His followers had to conform to very strict gender roles.
    He preached absolute pacifism and communal living.
    The eight letters he wrote are his only works that have survived.
    In addition to that, he was mistakenly credited for three more works.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a charismatic leader and organizer.
    He and his followers were systematically persecuted in Europe for their beliefs, particularly their pacifism.
    He stood up for his beliefs at the time of his execution.
    His wife got executed two years after his execution, which she escaped.
    A street in Innsbruck is named after him.
