    The Guantanamo Bay scandal occurred while he was committee chair.
    His response? He read the cafeteria menu to rebuke prisoner treatment claims.
    His district has been heavily gerrymandered since his 1981 election.
    Despite being conservative, he voted for No Child Left Behind and Medicare Part D.
    He is mistaken for a protectionist on free trade.
    Like most Republicans, he is strongly pro-life and even introduced pro-life legislation.

    His plan out of Iraq? Putting the Iraqi troops in charge of security.
    He built the border fence in San Diego!
