Produced the Broadway shows 'The Great Magoo' (1932), 'Jumbo' (1935), 'Clash by Night' (1941), 'Carmen Jones' (1943), 'Seven Lively Arts' (1944), 'Interplay' (1945) and 'The Immoralist' (1954)

Why he might be annoying:

His nicknames included 'the Little Napoleon of Showmanship' and 'the Bantum Barnum.'
There was considerable question about just what he had contributed to earn many of his songwriting credits.
He was married and divorced five times, including twice to showgirl Joyce Matthews.
Ironically, he had advised Matthews' ex, Milton Berle, 'Just keep in mind that blondes like Joyce are a dime a dozen.'
His last marriage, to Doris Vidor (King Vidor's ex-wife), last just six months before she filed for divorce on the grounds of 'extreme mental cruelty.'
First wife Fanny Brice called him the most evil man she knew.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the 50-yard dash champion of his high school.
He won a world championship at shorthand, taking over 200 words per minute.
Songwriters tolerated his credit grabs since he was so good at promoting the songs that they ended up with more royalties even after deducting Rose's share.
He donated his sculpture collection to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
He gave the advice, 'Never invest money in anything that eats or needs repairing.'
