Why TMZ might be annoying
Their name is an acronym referring to a 30-mile radius of the website's headquarters near Hollywood.
Two words: Harvey Levin.
Despite claims that they do not pay for stories or interviews, Levin has admitted that the site frequently pays sources for leads on stories.
One of their corporate sponsors is Hilton Hotels (despite the fact that they frequently mock the hotel heiress).
Many celebrities have deep hatred toward the website to the point of them receiving death threats.
They were held in contempt for releasing a manuscript for O.J. Simpson's confessional 'If I Did It' before the book was released.
They released photos of a badly bruised and beaten Rihanna after her altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown (February 22, 2009).
They are the epitome of Big Brother.
They launched a television show that is essentially a sleazier version of 'Entertainment Tonight.'
Why TMZ might not be annoying
They exposed Anti-Semite ramblings of Mel Gibson during his drunken tirade in 2006.
They were the first to break the news of Michael Jackson's death.
They often have behind the scenes looks at celebrity's lives.
Woody Harrelson punched a TMZ photographer and broke his camera.
