Football Player
    (February 7, 1988- )
    Born in Miami, Florida
Quarterback for the Detroit Lions (2009-)
    Attended University of Georgia
Drafted as the number one pick overall in the 2009 NFL draft
MVP of the Capital One Bowl (2009)
He quit his high school baseball team because he believed it was hindering his performance in football.
In his first year as starting quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs team, he struggled with 53 percent of his passes completed and 12 interceptions.
He dropped out of Georgia in the middle of his junior year to enlist in the NFL Draft.
Even before the draft started, the Lions' made a lucrative deal of $41.7 million for six years deal to Stafford.
Some accuse the Lions' management of being too desperate (after a humiliating 0-16 season from the previous season) in selecting Stafford as their first pick.
Even before his college run, he received numerous sports awards such as the Parade Magazine All American Team and EA Sports National Player of the Year (2005).
ESPN football analyst Mel Kiper, Jr. correctly predicted that he would be the NFL's number one pick four years before it actually happened.
He led an amazing 18-point comeback in the 2006 Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
He presented a humorous Top Ten list on his NFL prospects during 'Late Show with David Letterman.'
He is best friends with up and coming Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kernshaw, whom he was a classmate with in Texas.
Many sports analysts say that both Stafford and Kershaw were both bright futures for their respective sports in the professional leagues.
