Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with the actor.
As he first started playing golf on his own at age 15, members of the Naugatuck Golf Club had to give him clubs as he didn't have enough money to buy clubs or a bag.
He was missing a ring finger.
He struggled in the PGA Championship, never going past the semi-finals.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won a major golf tournament with a steel shafted club; he was the first golfer to do so.

He was an inspiration for outstanding Polish American golfers such as Ed Furgol and Bob Toski.
He lost his ring finger and he badly injured his small finger from his left hand at the time he was working at a foundry.
