Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

Some casual baseball fans easily confuse him with the Dodgers manager of the same name, who coincidentally managed one game with the Padres.
He was often shuffled back and forth between the Padres and the minor leagues.
He spent the entire 1976 season in the minor leagues, without a call up to the Padres.
He played sparingly in the last couple seasons of his career.
He took up calf roping following the end of his baseball career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first player from the University of Oregon baseball program to be selected with the first overall pick.
He was a versatile player who was able to play both the catcher, third base and shortstop positions.
He was the sixth player in major league history to directly make the big club upon being drafted, without playing a game in the minors.
He briefly served as a manager in the minor leagues during the mid 1980's.
He was one of the first handful of players to complete the Texas double (played for both the Astros and Rangers franchises).
