The Resume

    (1986- )
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
Led by Nash Kato (vocals and guitar) and Eddie ‘King’ Roeser (bass guitar, guitar, and vocals)
Recorded the albums ‘Jesus Urge Superstar’ (1989), ‘Americruiser’ (1990), ‘The Supersonic Storybook’ (1991), ‘Saturation’ (1993), ‘Exit the Dragon’ (1995), and ‘Rock & Roll Submarine’ (2011)

Why they might be annoying:

AllMusic noted, ‘Few bands ever lusted after rock stardom quite as blatantly.’
Other than Kato and Roeser, there have been over a dozen different band members.
They signed a deal with Geffen Records despite legally owing an album to the indie Touch and Go label (1992).
Roeser said about their biggest hit, a cover of Neil Diamond’s ‘Girl, ‘You’ll Be a Woman Soon,’ ‘We were never happy with it.’
They went on a seven-year hiatus whuile Kato and Roeser feuded (1997-2004).

Why they might not be annoying:

They took their name from the lyrics of the P-Funk song ‘Funkentelechy.’
They opened for Nirvana on the ‘Nevermind’ tour and Pearl Jam on the ‘Vs.’ tour.
Their ‘Goodbye to Guyville,’ a kiss-off to the Chicago indie scene, inspired the title of Liz Phair’s debut album, ‘Exile in Guyville,’
They contributed a track to the AIDS benefit album ‘No Alternative.’ (1993)
Presumably to show their appreciation for ‘Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon’ being featured in ‘Pulp Fiction,’ they performed as the house band at the Friar’s Club roast of Quentin Tarantino (2010).
