The Resume

    (July 9, 1978- )
    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    Fox News Channel political commentator
    Former O'Reilly Factor staffer
    Hosts 'Watters' World'
    Co-hosts 'The Five'

Why he might be annoying:

He made a habit of ambush interviewing people who wrote and said negative things about Bill O’Reilly.
For a ‘Watters’ World’ segment filmed in New York City’s Chinatown, he asked residents if they knew karate and if he should bow to say hello, while ‘Kung Fu Fighting’ played in the background (2016).
He responded to complaints with the non-apology ‘As a political humorist, the Chinatown segment was intended to be a light piece.’ (So at least he wasn’t engaged in ‘heavy’ stereotyping of Asians.)
Commenting on a speech by Ivanka Trump, he said, ‘I don’t really get what’s going on here, but I really like how she was speaking into the microphone,’ while making a hand gesture many observers though suggestive of a hand job (2017).
His wife filed for divorce over his affair with a production staffer fifteen years his junior (2018).
After he praised Gayle King’s interview of R. Kelly, he said she ‘totally redeem[ed] herself after the [Jussie] Smollett fiasco’ – only to be interrupted by Dana Perino pointing out that Robin Roberts had done the Smollett interview (2019).

Why he might not be annoying:

While a student at Trinity College, he was an intern for Senator Joe Lieberman.
At Fox News, he literally worked his way up from the bottom: his first job was logging videotapes in the basement.
He claimed his comments about Ivanka were not sexual: ‘During the break we were commenting on Ivanka's voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ...This was in no way a joke about anything else.’
He held up a whiteboard on which he wrote ‘I’m sorry Gayle + Robin.’
