He failed the Florida bar exam twice before passing it on his third try.
It's been widely speculated that he frequented a gay club called the Green Iguana.
He earned an 'A+' rating from the National Rifle Association.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played quarterback for the Wake Forest football team.
He transfered to Florida State, where he became Student Body Vice President.
He was the first Republican to be elected Florida's Attorney General.
He has a reputation for being tough on crime.
Unlike many Republicans, he didn't really get involved with the Terri Schiavo case.
He has some moderate positions, including expansion of civil rights legislation, supporting civil unions for gays and protecting the environment.
