    Born in St. Louis, Missouri
    Originally formed as the Missouri Rockets
    Moved to the Roxy Theater in New York as the Roxyettes (1927)
    Moved to Radio City Music Hall as the Rockettes (1932)
    Traditionally appear at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Columbus Day Parade and the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting
    Blacks were not allowed to join until 1987 because they would distract from the 'consistent look' of the group.
    They have kicked off product line announcements by McDonald's, Oldsmobile, Honda, Coca-Cola and L'Eggs pantyhose.
    They have restrictive height requirements with all dancers between 5'6" and 5'10-1/2.
    They won a grand prize at the Paris Exhibition of Dance (1936).
    They were a mainstay of World War II USO tours.
    Their Christmas Spectacular is watched by over 2 million people each year.
    The New York Times said, 'They are treasures of the dance world.'
