Why he might be annoying:

He stuffed his young male victims in his crawl space.
He was a very ugly, pudgy and disturbed person.
He was arrested for sodomizing a young male, then paid someone to beat a witness who testified against him (1968).
A different victim failed to show up when he was charged with sodomy, raping him (1971).
All of his victims were males, aged nine to twenty-seven.
His first wife left him in 1968 after his trial.The police found 28 male bodies in the crawlspace of his house and five more in the river.

Why he might not be annoying:

He entertained hospitalized children as Pogo the Clown.
He was sentenced to 21 life imprisonments and 12 death sentences.
He was lethally injected (1994).
The clown paintings he created, were sold and the money was donated to the victims' families.
His alcoholic father beat him and called him a sissy.
