The Resume

    (May 31, 1984- )
    Born in Anaheim, California
Won a silver medal in the 100 meter butterfly at the Beijing Olympics (2008)
Won a gold medal in the 50 meter butterfly and silver in the 100 meter butterfly at the 2009 World Championships

Why he might be annoying:

Although born in America, he competes for Serbia.
At the 2008 European championships, he was temporarily disqualified for wearing a t-shirt declaring 'Kosovo is Serbia' to the medals ceremony.
After losing the gold in the 100 meters to Michael Phelps at Beijing by 1/100th of second, he insisted that he had finished first and that the electronic touchpad had failed to record his finish properly.
Although endless replays of the electronic and photographic evidence showed Phelps had indeed finished first, Cavic was insisting he was the rightful winner at the World Championships a year later.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was named National High School Swimmer of the Year (2002).
He won the first Olympic medal for Serbia.
After the 100 meter butterfly at the 2009 World Championships, where Phelps and Cavic became the first two swimmers to break 50 seconds, Phelps said, 'The coolest thing is being able to have races like this because it brings the best out of everybody.'
