Figure Skater
    (December 15, 1973- )
Finished 1st at the Goodwill Games (2000)
    French National Champion (1989-97)
Her mother, Suzanne, is her coach and Suraly is her own choreographer.
Many skating experts believe if she had a professional coach and choreographer, she would have done much better.
She skated in three Olympics, her highest finish was 4th (1994).
    She is a vegetarian.
At a World championship she finished third, but believed the judges scored her too low, so she refused and finally reluctantly climbed the third place pedestal.
Other than Debi Thomas, she was the only other black single women's figure skater in the Olympics.
She trained as a gymnast, and thus has a greater athleticism than other female skaters.
She is the first skater to do a back flip as part of her routine.
She was adopted by a French white woman (Suzanne Bonaly).
