Why Celtic Mythology might be annoying:

But for modern Roman and Christian sources, almost all of the written material (in Gaulish) and ancient languages would have been left for dead with the Roman Empire.
Until the 11th century, after the Vikings were driven from Eire, no written documentation was reported.
Fixed with a Christian slant – especially in Wales – early medieval monks distorted the ancient myths into a madhouse of conflicting events.
In particular, two conflicting images stand out: cattle raiding by the Scots, as per the Irish epics, and the berserk blue-painted headhunter depicted in Braveheart.
It features vates (Nostradamus types) and bards (hired sycophant poets).
Sometimes the enemy’s head was used as decoration to a Celt’s nook.

Why Celtic Mythology might not be annoying:

The Gael and Pict and Brythonic tribes were able to leave written forms of their remnants in the Middle Ages.
Unlike many Greco-Roman myths, most Celtic myths did not project the impression of a religious nature.
Scotland and the Brittany region of France made significant contributions to the polytheism.
It features druids (priests) and the familiar gods, goddesses, and mortals.
As with other polytheisms, many of the given names have stuck.
