Why they might be annoying:

Several monikers were considered before the band settled on Blind Melon. Brad said it is the name his father used to describe his hippie neighbors back in Mississippi.
Shannon (Indiana) and Christopher ( Pennsylvania) were the only band members not born in Mississippi.
The plump tap-dancing Bee Girl (Heather deLoach, 10 at the time) introduced in ‘No Rain’ became so popular she actually overshadowed the band.
Being away from his daughter took its toll on Shannon.
Since October 1995 almost all of their press concerns Shannon's death.

Why they might not be annoying:

Ironically, the Bee Girl shown on the first album is Glenn’s sister as she appeared in a school play.
From the packaging of the material to the cover artwork, they gained carte blanche over their identity very early on.
Their roots were not grunge, but the rock sound of the '70s.
‘Nico,’ in honor of Shannon’s daughter, was released in 1996.
