He took prescription pain killers which probably led to his kidney failure and ultimate death.
He was in four auto accidents in less than two years including a motorcycle crash.
He divorced Elektra (ECW valet).

Why he might not be annoying:

He created the concept of the 'Dudley Boyz' and recruited all the 'Dudley' wrestlers. (Spike Dudley Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Devon Dudley, Snot Dudley, Dudley Dudley, Sign Guy Dudley, half-Native American Dances With Dudley, Chubby Dudley).
The story was that papa Dudley was a traveling salesman who seduced most of the women of Dudleyville.
He based the Dudleys on the Hanson Brothers from 'Slap Shot.'
He was known for staying the longest at autograph shows as to not disappoint any fans.
