The Resume

    (May 20, 1985- )
    Born in Nairobi, Kenya
    Road racing cyclist
Won a bronze medal in the men’s time trials at the London Olympics (2012)
Won the Tour de France in 2013, 2015 and 2016
Named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to sport (2016)

Why he might be annoying:

During the 2006 Road World Championships, he crashed into an official at the start of the time trials.
Despite being born in Kenya and raised in South Africa, he competes for Great Britain (on the basis of having two English parents).
His sudden emergence from obscurity to leading contender in 2011 launched a wave of doping rumors.
During the 2015 Tour de France, a spectator threw urine at him.
His scrawny arms make him look even thinner than he is.

Why he might not be annoying:

One reason his results improved dramatically in 2011 was that the previous year he was diagnosed with and treated for schistosomiasis, a parasitic infection that he may have been suffering from during most of his career.
In 2015, he became the first cyclist to simultaneously win the Tour de France and be named the Tour’s King of the Mountains since Eddy Merckx in 1970.
The Guardian wrote, ‘Froome’s dignity and politeness make him a role model for clean cycling in a sport that needed one.’
