Football Coach

The Resume

    (January 4, 1975- )
    Born in Lincoln, Nebraska
Former coach, Central Florida (2016-17) and Nebraska (2018-22)
Safety, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns
Quarterbacked Nebraska to the 1997 national title
His 2017 Central Florida team went unbeaten and claimed to be national champions
Fired during the 2022 season by his alma mater

Why he might be annoying:

His involvement in Lawrence Phillips’s attack on his former girlfriend has never been fully explained, as he was dating the woman Phillips attacked. Phillips broke into Frost’s apartment and dragged her down three flights of stairs.
He made a big show of going to Stanford to play quarterback for Bill Walsh over home state Nebraska and Tom Osborne, then Walsh tried to convert him into a safety.
His success at Central Florida is credited to the players that previous coach George O’Leary left him.
In his coaching career, he has had only one winning season.
At Nebraska, his loose coaching style was totally wrong for rebuilding the team, and his Cornhusker teams got progressively worse.
He told one recruit he would not be able to see him or his family because he had been playing golf and drinking.
His 2021 Nebraska team lost a record nine games by single digits.
He took the money from his contract buyout and bought a mansion in Arizona.
The 'Frost Warning' promotion when he was hired at Nebraska got old really quick.

Why he might not be annoying:

In their only head-to-head matchup, he outplayed Peyton Manning in the 1998 Orange Bowl.
His mom was an Olympic shot-putter.
He showed that a small-town football player could succeed in Division I.
After the undefeated 2017 season, he won seven different national 'coach of the year' awards.
He was most likely guilt-tripped into coming back to Nebraska by his former head coach, Tom Osborne.
He took a pay cut and had his contract restructured because his teams had not done well, and was still fired.
Cornhusker fans still cling to memories of his 1997 national title winning season—perhaps too strongly.
