Sportscaster

The Resume

    (February 3, 1958- )
    Born in Boulder, Colorado
Columnist for ESPN: The Magazine and espn.com and contributor to ESPN
Wrote for Sports Illustrated, including their 'Life of Reilly' back page column
Writer of several books, including 'Who's Your Caddy,' 'Missing Links' and 'Shanks for Nothing'

Why he might be annoying:

He is prone to using puns in his columns.
He is heavy on human-interest pieces.
He likes to recycle previous columns in newer columns.
In 2012, when Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured during a Monday Night game, he tweeted that the injury happened like he was the first to report it. However, other sources had reported what this injury was before him, not to mention that he reported what anybody watching could have easily figured out.
To make matters worse, he later instructed Stuart Scott to say he had this 'first on Twitter.' On camera, it was obvious that fellow analyst Steve Young was not amused by his actions.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association's 'National Sportswriter of the Year' eleven times, second all-time in the award's history.
He co-wrote the movie 'Leatherheads' with George Clooney, who also starred in it.
He got paid $17 million to leave his longtime home at Sports Illustrated to work for ESPN.
A column he once wrote about anti-malaria nets in Africa led to a related charity established with the help of the United Nations Foundation which has raised millions.
