Oddity

The Resume

    Born in Shiloh, Illinois
Coal plant technician; Former Domino's Pizza manager
Graduate of Granite High School; Attended ITT Technical Institute
'Undecided voter' who became a trending Twitter hashtag during the 2nd Trump-Clinton presidential debate (October 9, 2016)
Dubbed 'Presidential Debate Hero,' #RedSweaterGuy, and #BoneZone on social media
Scored an invitation to Las Vegas to cover the third Presidential debate for Jimmy Kimmel Live (Oct. 20, 2016)
As of 2016, has 255,000 followers on Twitter

Why he might be annoying:

He claimed to be 'even more undecided' after the debate than before.
He predictably took part in efforts to cash in on his newfound celebrity (T-shirts, endorsement deals, etc).
He inspired an entire theme of dishes at a Brooklyn Pizzeria ('Penneth Bone,' 'Provobone,' 'Chicken Bone').
The viral fame he received resulted in the coach of Gonzaga University's Basketball team - who shares the same name - having his inbox flooded with messages.
When he answered post-debate questions from his Reddit account, users dug through his previous comments to discover that he belonged to a sub-group devoted to sexual 'fetish fantasies.'
What they found included a post on a thread about the iCloud leaks of celebrities (in which he commented on Jennifer Lawrence's leak with 'I saw her asshole, and I liked it').
Further examination of his account showed him bragging about defrauding insurance companies and, in one thread, appearing to suggest that the shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman was justified.
The sweater he was wearing got more attention than the question he asked (which was about energy policy), or the answers to it.
His trademark red sweater was actually his second choice (he had split the pants of his olive green suit getting into the car earlier in the day).
He had seven social media followers prior to the debate - two of whom he admitted to being the same person (his grandma).

Why he might not be annoying:

He married his high school sweetheart.
He was drummer for a popular local 'Christian rock' band.
He has an extremely close relationship with his grandparents (his grandfather helped him pick out the green suit he was supposed to wear).
He was rightfully termed 'the real winner' of the second Presidential debate.
The IZOD sweater he was wearing sold out within hours on the night of the debate.
He debuted his Star Wars-themed Halloween costume on Twitter; dressed up as 'Obi-Wan Kenboni' (Get it? Obi Wan Kenobi').
The fascination with his ordinariness/pleasant demeanor was the one positive takeaway from perhaps the nastiest face-off between two candidates in Presidential debate history (accusing each other of abusing women, one implying that the other belonged in a jail cell, etc.)
His overnight fame get under Bill Maher's skin, who called him 'too stupid' to decide to support Clinton over Trump, further complaining about having to 'live in a country where half the people think Trump should be President' (what a snob!)
He handled the 'Reddit' post scandal with humor, responding to Jimmy Kimmel asking if his wife found out at the same time most people did by joking: 'Well, Jimmy, she found out like all great American wives do, through the door.'
His 'Zimmerman' message was taken out of context to make it seem like he was defending the killing when he wasn't ('Bad guy legally kills kid in self defence. Sucks for everybody, including us due to media fuckery').
