    Formed in Guildford, Surrey, England
    1979 line-up:
David Fenton - lead vocals, guitar
    Edward Bazalgette - lead guitar
    Steve Smith - bass, vocals
    Howard Smith - drums
    Recorded 'Turning Japanese'
They are a one hit wonder.
Fenton formed the band in 1978, a year later he was the only original member left.
Fenton would neither confirm or deny 'Turning Japanese' was about masturbation, saying 'It was a love song - it wasn't intended to be about wanking at the time. What surprised me was that the Americans thought it was an English phrase!'
After 'Turning Japanese' was released in 1980 the group had no more hits, argued a lot and disbanded a year later.
'Turning Japanese' was a Top 10 hit in the U.S., reached #3 in the U.K. and spent 10 weeks at #1 in Australia, going platinum.
The band discovered Australians loved the song but were confused. One fan told Fenton, 'Oh, we didn't think you were an actual band. We thought you'd just got together in the studio for this one record.'
Their record label did nothing to promote their 1980 debut album, 'New Clear Days' (a play on the word 'nuclear') or their follow-up effort, which had a darker side and featured a song about Jim Jones, dropped them and that was it.
