    (July 15, 1948- )
    Born in Louisville, Kentucky
Birth name was Thomas Delmer Pyle
    Drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd (1974-77,1988-91)
    Formed the Artimus Pyle Band
Recorded the albums 'A.P.B.' (1981), 'Nightcrawler' (1983), 'Live from Planet Earth' (2000) and 'Artimus Venomous' (2007)
He describes his band as 'the Ultimate Tribute to Ronnie Van Zandt's Lynyrd Skynyrd.'
He has a bitter feud with Ronnie's widow Judy and current Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zandt.
He pleaded 'no contest' to charges of attempted sexual battery against two girls, ages 8 and 12, and was sentenced to eight years' probation (1993).
He was recommended to Lynyrd Skynyrd by Charlie Daniels.
He survived the plane crash that killed Ronnie Van Zandt and Steve and Cassie Gaines.
Despite having multiple broken ribs -- some of which had broken through his skin -- he walked several hundred yards from the crash site to summon help.
Since the death of Billy Powell, his band has many Ronnie Van Zandt-era Skynyrd alumni as the band calling itself Lynyrd Skynyrd does.
He claimed the molestation accusations were made up by the girls' mother, an ex-girlfriend trying to extort him.
He said he agreed to the 'no contest' plea only when he ran out of money to continuing paying lawyers to fight the charges.
The two girls have made public statements saying he was innocent.
