Why he might be annoying:

He usually performed wearing a cowboy hat.
He had a reputation as an erratic live performer, who could be brilliant one night and indifferent the next.
During a show opening for Pearl Jam, he seemed perplexed when audience members began body-surfing to his music (1995).
He said, ‘I don’t do nothing but worry… Worry about my damn hard times and bills.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was left-handed.
He was a sharecropper before moving to Chicago at age fourteen.
He was unable to follow up his groundbreaking ‘50s singles when Cobra Records went bankrupt.
He influenced Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Mike Bloomfield (who said the goal of any white blues guitarist was to ‘be as good as Otis Rush’).
Stevie Ray Vaughan named his backing band Double Trouble after Rush’s song.
