Why he might be annoying:

    He was a child prodigy.
He sang opera arias at age 2.
Many people find his operas boring and un-dramatic.
He abandoned a girlfriend, and she supposedly died of a broken heart.
He claimed he was visited by her ghost in the form of a bird.
He wrote a lot of music for a woman named ‘Pasta.’
After he died, a friend described him as ‘simple-minded.’
He spoke French poorly, and once politely asked a Paris shopkeeper if he could buy a ‘fucking hat.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He died of a bacterial infection at 32.
He had many operas produced by the time of his death.
Most of them are still performed today.
‘Norma’ is considered a challenging masterpiece.
An excellent vodka cocktail is named after him.
