Outlaw

The Resume

    (July 5, 1945-September 4, 2014)
    Attorney
Gained prominence with his unsuccessful defense of Aryan Nation leader Richard G. Butler in a $6 million civil suit (2000)
Spokesperson for white supremacist pop group Prussian Blue
    Wrote 'Defensive Racism' (2005)
Arrested for attempting to hire his handyman to murder his wife and mother-in-law (June 11, 2010)
Convicted on all charges (May 5, 2011)
Sentenced to 50 years in prison
Died at the Federal Correction Complex in Victorville, California

Why he might be annoying:

He said Jews owned the Federal Reserve, control organized crime, and orchestrated 9/11.
He wrote, 'What color are Jews? Jews are the color of avarice and greed. Jews are the color of dishonesty, selfishness and heartlessness.'
He wrote that blacks inherited an 'African culture' of 'rape, murder, violence and single-parent families.'
He called for a boycott of products using black actors and models in their ads.
His wife caught him looking for other women on match.com and filed for divorce, asking for $1,400 a month in child support, two of the family's vehicles, and their horse ranch in Idaho (2000).
Although he and his wife reconciled, he later began corresponding with Ukrainian women via email, and asked one to live with him.
His handyman, Larry Fairfax, agreed to wear an FBI wire and recorded Steele asking Fairfax to plant pipe bombs under his wife's car and his own car.
He planned to claim after his wife's death that they had both been targeted for murder.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the Coast Guard for four years.
His wife, Cyndi, stood by him during the trial and insisted he had been framed.
Fairfax, who had actually planted a pipe bomb in Cyndi's SUV and never bothered to mention that minor fact to the FBI, ended up serving a mere two years for his part in the murder plot.
The bomb planted in Cyndi's vehicle turned out to be a dud, and Fairfax later claimed he had deliberately built the bomb to malfunction and planned to take Steele's money for the murder without actually carrying it out. (What's the world coming to when sleazy hitmen no longer take pride in a job well done?)
