Why he might be annoying:

He had to get early financial backing from his sister.
His first helicopter could lift 357 pounds, but the helicopter alone weighed over 450 pounds (October 1909).

Why he might not be annoying:

Because of the The Bolshevik Revolution, he left Russia and came to New York (March 30, 1919).
He invented several airplanes.
His R-4 was used in the first helicopter mercy mission (through a snowstorm), transporting blood plasma from Manhattan to victims of a steamship explosion in Sandy Hook, New Jersey (January, 1944).
