Why Thimphu, Bhutan might be annoying:

    It didn't really develop as a city until it was declared the capital.
    It is one of the two capital cities in Asia without traffic lights (the other one is Pyongyang) because residents found them impersonal, so the police direct the traffic instead.
    Tourism is strictly regulated in order to preserve its traditions.
    Transportation is often hampered by landslides, heavy rainfall, and fog, particularly during the monsoon season.

Why Thimphu, Bhutan might not be annoying:

    It strives to incorporate modernity in a balanced manner so as to preserve its traditional customs.
    It has many beautiful monasteries, dzongs (fortresses), and chortens (Buddhist monuments).
    The national library houses the heaviest book in the world, titled 'Bhutan: A Visual Odyssey Across the Last Himalayan Kingdom'.
    The number of nightclubs and pool houses are growing quickly to cater to young people and expatriates.
