    Born in Havana, Cuba
    Held dual Cuban-American citizenship
    Served in the Cuban national police under Batista, the FBI and CIA
    Took part in the Bay of Pigs invasion to overthrow Fidel Castro (1961)
    Member of the White House 'Plumbers' during the Nixon administration
    Served 16 months in jail for his Plumbers-related activities

Why he might be annoying:

    As a White House Plumber, he broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate hotel and the office of Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist.
    He also let his bank account be used to launder an illegal $25,000 donation from the agribusiness firm Archer Daniels Midland to the Nixon campaign.
    After Watergate, he worked as a Miami building inspector until he was fired for loafing on the job (1982).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served with the US Air Force in World War II and was a POW for 18 months.
    He was a staunch anti-Communist.
    He was loyal to Nixon, who he insisted was one of the best presidents the US ever had.
