Why Macau might be annoying:

In 1999 Macau became the Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, only to see the initials used for a disease a couple of years later.
It is so small that ten Macaus can fit into Washington D.C.
The mixed Asian-Portuguese are known as Macanese (sounds like a nut).
Its flag features a lotus flower.

Why Macau might not be annoying:

It enjoys one of the world's highest life expectancy rates of almost 82 years old (85 for women).
China grants Macau the right to be mostly autonomous and practice capitalism until 2049.
It was the first European settlement in the Far East.
It was primarily used as a gambling resort that attracts almost ten times its population in visitors.
Actress Ming-Na Wen was born here.
