    He changed the pronunciation of his name from ‘door-sit' to ‘door-SET,' because he thought it gave his name more prominence.
    He played for the University of Pittsburgh at a time when the team was involved in many scandals.
    He never won a rushing title.
    After being lauded by many as impossible to catch from behind, Darrell Green caught him from the opposite side of the field in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football (September 5, 1983).
    Like so many athletes, he hung around too long, finishing his career with the Denver Broncos.
    He won the Heisman Trophy in 1976.
    Against the Minnesota Vikings in 1983, he ran for a 99-yard touchdown. It is the only time someone has run 99 yards from scrimmage for a touchdown.
    As of 2006, he is 7th on the all-time list for rushing yards (12,036 yards).
    He made the Pro Bowl 4 times.
    He ran for over 1,000 yards eight times.
