Why I Dream of Jeannie might be annoying:

Typically genies only give out three wishes, but that would have made for a short TV series.
It stole its basic premise from 'Bewitched' in that a male character was trying to hide the superpowers of a beautiful woman.
The first season is rarely seen in syndication, as it is the only season shot in black and white.
Jeannie's bottle was actually just a Jim Beam liquor decanter spruced up by the prop department.
Barbara Eden landed her role because she was the only white blonde female that tried out for the role.
Jeannie's revealing outfits gave the censors a seizure. Eventually it was agreed that Barbara Eden's belly button was forbidden from being shown on television.
As a joke, the crew once left Barbara Eden inside the bottle set and went to lunch, filming her reaction and then putting it on the show.
    It glorified drinking and smoking.
The primary reason behind ending the series was that enough episodes were made for a syndication sale.
The fans of this show and the fans of 'Bewitched' are often pitted against each other.
Some feminists criticize it for being about a man who 'owns' a woman.

Why I Dream of Jeannie might not be annoying:

    Barbara Eden's legs.
It drew huge ratings in syndication throughout the 1970s.
Larry Hagman's success in 'Dallas' also lead to a new interest in the show.
Barbara Eden's 'Jeannie' costume is on display in the Smithsonian Institute.
They waited until the series final season to have Major Nelson and Jeannie get married, despite network pressure to do it sooner.
