Why they might be annoying:

They were a one-hit wonder.
Their hit, 'Pass The Dutchie,' was a remake of The Mighty Diamonds' 'Pass The Kouchie.' Kouchie refers to ganja (marijuana); dutchie is a cooking pot.
When the group failed to produce another hit, lead singer Dennis went solo.
They got their start by playing clubs and bars when they were small children.
Kelvin admitted that he once visited Michael Jackson's bedroom as a kid.

Why they might not be annoying:

They may have been forced into show business by Freddie Waite, Sr.
Contrary to popular thought, theirs was the first video by black artists to be played on MTV, pre-dating Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' by several months.
In 1993, Patrick died of natural causes while awaiting a court appearance on drug charges, squashing any plans for a reunion.
Dennis and Michael have reformed Musical Youth and tour with an 80s revival revue.
