Best known for the hit singles 'Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel,' 'More Than a Woman,' 'Whodunit' and 'Check It Out'
Recorded over ten albums

Why they might be annoying:

They named the band after the family name (how original).
The brothers each had silly nicknames, such as 'Pooch,' 'Tiny,' 'Chubby' and 'Butch.'
The original group was named Chubby and the Turnpikes, after group member 'Chubby.'
Despite the fact that 'More Than a Woman' was specifically written for Tavares by the Bee Gees, the Bee Gees version is the one people remember.
After the success of 'More Than a Woman,' they spent years trying to prove that they were more than just a 'Disco Group.'
Their popularity faded in the early 80s with the end of Motown and Disco.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their clean-cut, young-men-next-door, image made them favorites on TV shows such as Johnny Carson.
Many of their songs would later be remade by such diverse groups as Hall & Oates and Take That.
They were one of the most respected family groups of the 70's.
