They released a song about the New York City blackout of 1977.
Group member Jerry Mills Collins was convicted of pistol whipping his wife and sentenced to 12-35 years in prison (2000).

They've had several Top 40 hits on the R&B charts, both disco and non-disco songs.
'Disco Inferno,' featured on the 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack, was the longest song on the LP and a million+ seller as a single.
The song earned the group (and all other artists on the 'SNF' soundtrack) a Grammy.
They were playing New York's popular 2001 Space Odyssey club long before it became the location of the 'Saturday Night Fever' movie.
'Disco Inferno' was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame at a New York ceremony (September 19, 2005).
