Fan

The Resume

    (October 28, 1963-September 22, 2002)
Para-glided with a 78-pound fan strapped on his back into the open-aired boxing ring of the heavyweight championship rematch between Riddick Bowe and Evander Holyfield at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas (November 6, 1993)

Why he might be annoying:

After circling the ring for 25 minutes he descended down during the seventh round and got himself tangled up in the boxing ropes.
Referee Mills Lane immediately halted the fight, causing a half hour delay and near riot as people cursed and threw things at the chucklehead.
His parachute was ripped to shreds, with some spectators keeping pieces of it as bizarre souvenirs.
He later flew into a Denver Broncos-Los Angeles Raiders football game and was chased by National Guard helicopters (January 1994).
A month later he skydived into the middle of the World Cup soccer playoffs in Bolton, England.
A few weeks later he glided onto the top of Buckingham Palace after painting himself green and covering his private parts with glow-in-the-dark paint. He was thought (incorrectly) to be working for the Irish Republican Army.
The stunt got him fined 600 pounds ($1,500), held in prison for 42 days, branded an international terrorist by Interpol and banished from the United Kingdom for life.
He committed suicide at age 39 by going deep into the Alaskan wilderness and hanging himself with (fittingly) parachute chords.

Why he might not be annoying:

A friend in Las Vegas turned him on to the world of ultra lights and power-gliding.
He set power-gliding records for altitude and distance.
He was pummeled by Riddick Bowe's entourage while he lay helpless, tangled in the ropes.
One security officer struck him 20 times, a la Rodney King.
The F.A.A. threatened him with a long prison sentence if he didn't quit flying/gliding.
He moved to a remote part of Alaska where he was free to fly his untralight aircraft and gliders in the wild.
His 'fan man' feat was recreated on an episode of 'The Simpsons.'
He developed a serious coronary condition, had heart surgery, and was forced to close his computer business.
As his medical bills mounted and depression sank in, he set off on a hike into the wilderness and was never seen alive again (September 2002).
Hunters found his skeletal remains about 6 months later (March 9, 2003).
