Vocalist
    (April 3, 1942-October 6, 2015)
    Born in Valdosta, Georgia
Notable songs include 'I'll Pin A Note On Your Pillow,' 'Down In The Boondocks,' 'I Knew You When,' 'Hush,' 'Tell It Like It Is,' 'Burned Like A Rocket' and 'Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away'
He was another fading pop singer from the 1960's and 1970's who reinvented himself as a country singer in the 1980's.
He recorded three self titled albums, one in each decade.
He had a nasal singing voice.
Many casual music fans forget he was a pop singer in the 1960's and 1970's, since his string of country hits in the 1980's overshadows his earlier work.
He got his break performing in the famed Bamboo Ranch nightclub in Savannah, Georgia.
His rendition of 'Heart's Desire' gave him a minor following in northern soul nightclubs.
His career received another second wave as many younger fans were exposed to his music through 'The Beat Army' movement.
Despite his age, he continued to tour and perform abroad well into his 60's and 70's.
