    (September 6, 1908-October 20, 1982)
    Born in Boston, Massachusetts
Sculptor for the Crazy Horse Memorial (1948-1982)
Also carved 'Fighting Stallions,' 'Noah Webster,' Sitting Bull Monument and 'Paderwski'
It is unknown whether his first name came from Korczak (a Polish clan), as it was given by his family.
    He smoked cigars.
He turned down a job to create World War II memorials.
Following his death, the progress of the Crazy Horse Memorial went pretty slow as his wife Ruth and children took over.
At the very early years of his life, he was orphaned and put into foster care.
He was in the Army during World War II.
He worked with Gutzon Borglum to chisel the stone faces of four American presidents on Mt. Rushmore.
He died unexpectedly of a heart attack while working on the Crazy Horse Memorial.
His wife Ruth and his children completed the face of Crazy Horse on the mountain in South Dakota (1998).
The Crazy Horse Memorial is to be the world's largest sculpture, when it is entirely done.
