    Born in Berlin, Germany
    Attended United State Schools for Pure and Applied Arts (1936-1938)
    Hid from the Nazis in Southern France (1939-1943)
    Painted an autobiographical series of 769 gouache paintings titled 'Leben? oder Theater? Ein Singspiel?' while in hiding (1941-1943)
    Paintings handed over to Dr. Moridis, who sent them to Ottilie Moore for safekeeping at her request
    Gassed upon her arrival at Auschwitz

Why she might be annoying:

    Her last name is one letter away from 'salmon'.
    She fell in love with her teacher Alfred Wolfshorn, who was more than twenty years her senior.
    Her husband Alexander Nagler was thirteen years her senior.
    She got pregnant before getting married.
    A 35-page confession letter she wrote in 1942 revealed that she fatally poisoned her grandfather with a homemade omelette. (2015)

    Her mother committed suicide when she was nine, and she wasn't told about it until she was twenty-two.
    Despite her skill in art, her Jewish heritage prevented her from receiving an award she won for painting. (1938)
    She was allegedly a victim of sexual abuse by her grandfather.
    She incorporated her own style of humor and wit to her gouache paintings chronicling her life and feelings.
    She was five months pregnant at the time of her death.
