Vocalists
    (1965- )
Born in Washington, District of Columbia
    Line up, 1970-82:
Harry Ray (December 15, 1946-October 1, 1992), born in Longbranch, New Jersey
Al Goodman (March 31, 1946-July 26, 2010), born in Jackson, Mississippi
William Brown (June 30, 1946- ), born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey
Recorded the singles 'Love on a Two-Way Street' (1970), 'Sexy Mama' (1973), 'Look at Me, I'm in Love' (1975) and 'Special Lady' (1980)
None of the three vocalists from their hit-making days were original members.
'Love on a Two-Way Street' was originally meant to be recorded by a girl group, the Emotions.
On their last big hit, 'Special Lady,' they were billed as Ray, Goodman and Brown due to a dispute with record label owners Joe and Sylvia Robinson over ownership of the 'Moments' name.
Mark Greene, one of the group's original members, bought the rights to the Moments name.
As a result, the oldies circuit has a Moments featuring none of the vocalists from their hits and a Ray, Goodman and Brown that is missing both Ray and Goodman.
They were a classic three-part harmony soul group.
'Love on a Two-Way Street' and 'Special Lady' both hit #1 on Billboard's R&B chart and were top five pop hits.
Their UK dance hit 'Love Is a Game' featured guest vocals by Angie B -- later better known as Angie Stone.
'Love on a Two-Way Street' was sampled in Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Grammy-winning 'Empire State of Mind.'
